Battlefords Concern for Youth is expanding its staff to better accommodate an
increasing need for our services for children and youth in the Battlefords. We are
currently seeking a full time Mentor.

Job Description: The Mentor will provide one on one and small group mentorship to children and youth ages 5 – 19 years. The position requires a team player who can
collaborate to develop and deliver programs to children and youth in mentorship as well as to youth in the community. Program development will be created in response to input from youth. Programs must be inclusive, provide life skills and opportunities to participate in both physical and creative activities. Hours of work are late
afternoon/evenings with potential for some weekend options.

Applicant Requirements:
Education: Some post-secondary education preferred
Experience: 1-2 years

The position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and the ability to transport clients in a reliable vehicle. A Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check and Clean Driver’s Abstract are mandatory. You will be required to maintain confidential notes and provide regular written reports. Familiarity with child, youth and family resources and support services/agencies in the Battlefords would be an asset.

Employment Terms:
Job Length: Permanent Full-Time Equivalent (30-35 hours per week)
Wage: Starting wage range $19.00 – $22.00 per hour based on experience

Battlefords Concern for Youth has moved to the second floor of 1102 – 101st Street. Adjacent to the ARC and upstairs in the Scotia Bank Building. We have doubled our programming space and now have four private mentorship spaces to better serve children and youth of the Battlefords.
