"What is a CONNECTIONS Coordinator?
The CONNECTIONS Coordinator works with children ages 5–12 and their families when a child is engaging in behaviours that could become criminal if they were older. Our approach is proactive and supportive — focusing on strengthening families, building skills, and helping children stay safely at home and connected to positive activities.
The Coordinator works directly with parents and caregivers to:
- Develop individualized family support plans
- Connect families with appropriate community services and resources
- Support children in engaging in positive, skill-building activities
- Strengthen parent-child relationships
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and practical tools for families
Each CONNECTIONS plan is unique and based on the specific needs of the child and family. Plans may include activities for the child, the parent/caregiver, or activities completed together.
The Coordinator also works closely with community partners and the CONNECTIONS Committee to ensure families have access to up-to-date services and supports available in the Battlefords area. Confidentiality, cultural awareness, and respect for family dignity are central to this role.
Our goal is simple:
To support families early, strengthen relationships, and help children build positive paths forward.
How to Refer a Child to the CONNECTIONS Program
Step 1: Complete the Referral Form

Step 2: Ensure Parent/Caregiver Consent
Referrals must include consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian.
Step 3: Submit the Form
Submit the completed referral form by:
- Email: coordinatorconnections@gmail.com
- In person: 1102 – 101st St, North Battleford, SK, S9A 0Z6
Once received, referrals are reviewed by the CONNECTIONS Committee. The Coordinator will contact the family directly if the referral is accepted.
